APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – With the holiday season approaching, the season of gifts and giving comes with it, and the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley received a generous one from three local families.
A $125,000 Matching Gift Challenge was granted to the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley. According to a release, all gifts up to that amount received by New Year’s Eve could be matched dollar-for-dollar. The campaign will benefit thousands of children in the area.

CEO Greg Lemke-Rochon said it means they’ll be able to continue providing safe spaces and connections with caring adults for young people.
“All of those kids benefit from the community’s generosity, especially from the three families who have stepped forward,” Lemke-Rochon said. “The way that we use these contributions is to help provide an environment that these kids, especially those with unmet needs can reach their potential.”
Last year, the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Fox Valley served over 17,600 adolescents at its 15 locations throughout northeast Wisconsin. The Clubs offer development programs, support from mentors and over 160,000 meals and snacks each year.
There are also mental and behavioral health services through a variety of initiatives and programs at no additional cost.
