EMPIRE, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Fond du Lac County were led on a pursuit after trying to pull a vehicle over for speeding early Saturday morning, ending in the driver’s arrest.
According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, a 52-year-old Sheboygan County man was initially pulled over for speeding around 4:05 a.m. on March 8 on State Highway 23 near County Road K in the Town of Empire.
The driver pulled over but then allegedly fled westbound into Fond du Lac. Deputies initiated a pursuit, noting the driver reportedly ran multiple red lights while driving 30 to 40 mph.

A first Stop Stick was successful on State Highway 23 at Park Avenue but wasn’t enough for the driver to stop. A second Stop Stick was again successful shortly after, deflating all four of the vehicle’s tires.
The 52-year-old was forced to come to a stop near Amory Street and was taken into custody without further incident.
The man from Plymouth was arrested for Felony Fleeing and Eluding and was taken to the Fond du Lac County Jail.
