APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials in Appleton are investigating the cause of an early Tuesday morning fire that resulted in an estimated $7,500 worth of damage.
According to a release from the Appleton Fire Company, crews responded at 12:48 a.m. to reports of smoke and flames coming out of a home on the 600 block of North Division Street.

Upon arrival, firefighters stated seeing black smoke coming from a second-story window. Crews brought the fire under control within 5 minutes and proceeded to ventilate the building.
Officials say the fire resulted in damages estimated to be $7,500. The cause of the fire is unknown and an investigation is currently underway.
