GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – For the first time since 2012, the Blizzard hosted a playoff game, and just like that season, Green Bay won in the conference semis as GB beat Quad City 34-23 to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals on Friday night.
The Blizzard looked good out of the gates, jumping in front 10-0 and leading at the half 13-3. But, the Steamwheelers kept the game close, cutting the deficit to as little as three in the final half. However, GB’s offense proved too much for the visitors as the Blizzard downed the Wheelers for the second time this season in three tries, avenging their loss in Quad City on June 22 (only one of three Green Bay defeats).
