Fox Valley food banks among recipients of Kraft-Heinz Mac & Cheese box donations

OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) – With Thanksgiving next week, Amcor and Kraft-Heinz partnered up to donate over 78,000 boxes of Mac & Cheese to food banks across America, with two food banks in the Fox Valley among the recipients.

According to a release, nearly 11% of households in Wisconsin struggle with food insecurity, and food banks need assistance as the holiday season approaches. The Fox Valley food banks receiving the donations were the Oshkosh Area Community Pantry and the St. Joseph’s Food Program.

Representatives from the Amcor Cares charitable foundation gathered on Wednesday morning to speak about the donation and how important it was to help families in need this holiday season.

Ethan Haas, the Amcor Foundation Board President said they’re dedicated to serving employees and it led to the idea of donating mac and cheese.

“Several employees were interested in giving back to our communities, and set out with this idea around partnering with a customer in Kraft to collect mac and cheese boxes and bring them to food banks,” Haas said.

Amcor brought the idea forward to Kraft-Heinz, who not only supported the idea but doubled the original donation amount. Mary Ann Dilling, who leads the Amcor Cares foundation, said it tells the story of camaraderie and the desire to make a difference.

“We had an opportunity to unite all of our colleagues across North America to make an impact, and we decided to collect Kraft mac & cheese,” Dilling said.
