Investigation into sexual assault in Kimberly leads to arrest of Manitowoc man

KIMBERLY, Wis. (WFRV) – A 27-year-old man from Manitowoc who was out on probation for attacking a person who was out for a walk in Appleton back in 2015, was arrested recently for the alleged sexual assault of a woman out walking in Kimberly.

Around 8 p.m. on April 16, officers with the Fox Valley Metro Police Department were called to the intersection of East Maes Avenue and Pine Street in Kimberly for a report of a sexual assault.

Officers say a woman who was out on a walk was reportedly approached and inappropriately touched by an unknown man who immediately ran away.

After canvassing the area and using security camera footage from a residential property, officers were able to identify a suspicious vehicle and an alleged suspect.

The suspect, later identified as 27-year-old Milan Stewart of Manitowoc, was subsequently arrested and taken to the Manitowoc County Jail on a probation hold from the Department of Corrections, Division of Community Corrections.

The release notes that Stewart is currently on probation for a 2015 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety and Suffocation conviction in Outagamie County for an attack on a person who was walking on the Newberry Trail in Appleton.

The following charges were referred to the Outagamie County District Attorney:

  • Fourth Degree Sexual Assault
  • Stalking
  • Disorderly Conduct
