Police: Four businesses in Wisconsin fail alcohol compliance check, found selling to underage person

JANESVILLE, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in southwestern Wisconsin say that four out of 15 local businesses sold alcohol during a recent alcohol compliance check.

According to the Janesville Police Department, on September 16 the department did alcohol compliance checks at 15 businesses. The release said that the goal of the checks was to make sure that the businesses were not selling to underage people.

Officials say that the checks were done by having an 18-20-year-old try to buy alcohol from a business. If the person is allowed to buy the alcohol the clerk is then cited.
