MANITOWOC, Wis. (WFRV) – Firefighters quickly responded and put out a fire at a Manitowoc home on Thursday night where all residents were able to safely evacuate.
According to the Manitowoc Fire Rescue Department, crews were called to a home in the 3700 block of Straight Street around 7:35 p.m. on December 12.

The initial call reported smoke and flames with the house “fully engulfed.” Crews arrived within four minutes of the call and found an active fire on the front side of the home.
Authorities say that all residents had safely evacuated and the fire was put out within seven minutes from the time of dispatch.
No injuries were reported and the fire is currently under investigation but the release noted that it appeared to have begun on the exterior of the structure. There was no damage estimate provided.
“The Manitowoc Fire Rescue Department would like to stress the importance of the proper disposal of smoking materials,” the release concluded.
